Terms of Service & Assessment Rules

1. Acceptance of Terms & Candidate Eligibility

By accessing, registering for, or attempting any assessment hosted on the Medha platform, you represent and warrant that:

• You are registered under your own bona fide identity, authentic mobile number, and legitimate educational institution.
• You meet the specific grade or academic cohort eligibility criteria defined for the particular exam (e.g. Class 10 Olympiad, National Foundation Assessment).
• Impersonation or falsification of enrollment details constitutes an automatic lifelong disqualification from Medha and reported to institutional registrars.

2. Anti-Cheating Protocol & Proctored Examination Conduct

During any active examination, candidates agree to abide by the following mandatory regulations:

• Webcam Stream: The candidate's camera must remain active, unblocked, and well-illuminated throughout the entire test duration.
• Prohibited Software: Screen sharing tools (e.g., Zoom, AnyDesk, TeamViewer), secondary monitors, virtual machines (VMs), or developer inspection consoles are strictly forbidden.
• Violation Escalation: Excessive tab switches or prolonged absence beyond the examination's configured grace period triggers an automated lock, force-submission, and proctor escalation.

3. Technical Requirements & Connectivity Resiliency

Candidates are responsible for providing adequate hardware and internet connectivity for unhampered testing:

• Supported Browsers: Google Chrome (v110+), Microsoft Edge (v110+), Mozilla Firefox (v115+), or Apple Safari (v16+).
• Authoritative Server Sync: Medha automatically saves all selected answers and remaining timers on the central server in real-time. In the event of a localized power or Wi-Fi drop, candidates may log back in from the same device to resume where they left off before the clock expires.
• Hardware Compatibility Check: Candidates are strongly encouraged to complete the pre-exam system diagnostic check at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

4. Intellectual Property Rights & Question Bank Security

All questions, answer options, diagrams, evaluation rubrics, software code, and diagnostic analytics accessible on Medha are the exclusive intellectual property of Medha Education Platform or its accredited institutional partners.

• Any attempt to capture screenshots, record screens, harvest questions, or publish exam material on social media, forums, or commercial platforms is a direct violation of copyright laws.
• Violators will face legal prosecution under the Indian Copyright Act 1957, Information Technology Act 2000, and equivalent international intellectual property statutes.

5. Deterministic AI Scoring & Merit Distribution

Medha eliminates subjective evaluation bias through algorithmic, server-authoritative scoring:

• Configured Marking Schemes: Marks per question, negative marking penalties, and partial credit weights are locked and published prior to the exam start.
• Deterministic Tie-Breaker Protocol: Where two or more candidates achieve identical aggregate scores, ranks are partitioned deterministically in order: (1) higher correct marks, (2) fewer incorrect answers (higher accuracy), (3) lower active duration taken, (4) earlier submission timestamp.
• Finality of Results: Automated rankings published on the official result date are conclusive. Formal re-evaluation appeals may be submitted within 7 calendar days via the Helpdesk.

6. Limitation of Liability & Dispute Jurisdiction

Medha Scholar strives for 99.9% platform availability. However, Medha Scholar shall not be liable for candidate failure caused by unsupported hardware, third-party ISP outages, or failure to follow pre-exam setup guidelines.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any legal dispute or proceeding arising hereunder shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in West Bengal, India.
